NJAHS
WOW! A whole year is passing and our activities are coming to an end. I have been SO PROUD of our Venerini National Art Honor Society students. We raised money to open our chapter, pay for a banner, give to Worcester Animal Rescue League, as well as make cards for veterans, nursing home residents, ceramic pet pins for shelter to sell in their gift shop to feed hungry strays, hearts for Abby, after school art projects, and peace bird pins for the sisters to sell next year at Christmas to raise funds for Nigeria. A very good year! Many good works, some bumps in the road,a learning process for all of us. I look forward to working with next years NJAHS! Good Luck To our graduating eighth grade, I have no doudt you will al do great things in life.

Story Cloths
Grades 4 thru 8 have completed their story cloths based on summer reading Of Beetles and Angels", by Selamawi Asgedon and "Malala", by Malala Yousafzai. These books are about people from other countries who valued education, Malala was shot for pursuing an education and advocating education for girls in Afghanistan( she lives!). Selamawi immigrated from a refugee camp to the U.S.A. and graduated from Harvard University! These amazing stories inspired us to interview our own relatives to find out who originally came here, to our nation of immigrants, how they arrived, where they settled, what they did and what traditions they passed on to us! Many known and previously unknown stories emerged and took form in our story cloths which will be displayed now thru Open House, so please come see them! Our story cloths were based on viewing a real story cloth and reading Dia's Story Cloth by Dia Cha, a Hmong immigrant who tells of her families journey and illustrates it with beautiful sewn cloths. Many students tried sewing for the first time, some even liked it!
